| Hi All, The old man and I just went for a quick run this afternoon out along the Bingara Road tracks and I logged it using an app on my iPhone called Motion X. At some stage I'll work out how to get all the info up as it logs graphs of speed & altitude, things like max positive & negative gradients + all usual stuff like avg / max speed and distance. But in the mean time here's just the plain map. The bloody thing can do more for $2.99 then what my $400 gps ever could... Cheers. Edit: If you click on the blue line on the map it gives you a bit more info. View Larger Map

Pity it would not work out here too well! !!!!!! It should work fine Blue, it only needs access to GPS Satellites not to phone service. Will have to get out soon and give it a go. - Blue wrote:

Verry cool Kieran for a cheep app that works with your phone. you can even zoom in for a more detailed look all though it do not give me quite enough zoom to see if you took the easy, the not so easy way or the hard way up the back side of little mountain but still verry good thanks Kirean I can see that will get a workout.
There is also a app called mud maps that they advertise in the back of ADB that is suppose to be good to.
We will have to go for a ride when I get my bike and Blues bike back together.
Ps I will be camping a Blues over the October long weekend if you are interested

| If you change it to "Satellite" or "Map" you can zoom in further. Also I saw Mud Maps advertiesed in ADB - But it's $60+Maps, not $3, so I thought I'd give the cheap one a go first! When I have a look in google earth (rather then google maps), you can follow the track with your mouse and actually see the elevation plot, which would be a lot cooler at Blue's place then around town.. Try this: http://g.co/maps/zezug - And no I didn't have a go at the hard way, but I did go round to the left and have a couple of goes at the diagonal way. Was pretty good. | |
